The Lake
There is something about going Fishing that is magical for so many people and different for every one of us. What ever your fishing is to you – a hobby, a pastime, a sport, an obsession or even a career, here at Churn Pool, we can offer a venue that we are sure you will love.
Churn Pool is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Cotswold Water Park. Close enough to major roads to offer easy access, but far enough away from them to offer peaceful surroundings.
We are a small family run Fishery and we pride ourselves on being able to offer our customers somewhere quiet to fish, away from the corporate and heavily marketed lakes that are so common today.
We are unique in that we operate as both a Carp fishery and a Trout fishery at different times of the year.
In the winter, we operate as a well stocked Trout fishery, in the summer we operate as a Carp fishery.
Dug in the mid seventies as one of the first gravel pits in the area, the bottom of the lake was left like a lunar landscape by the quarry workers.
Under the waves are a myriad of large gravel bars, silty troughs, plateux and deep holes, a haven for fish and the fisherman alike. Unlike a modern ‘even’ fishery, the lake is heavily affected by weather conditions ans good watercraft skills are essential for good fishing. Churn Pool offers challenging fishing, probably not best suited to the novice trying to catch their first fish, but more to the seasoned angler trying to outwit they quarry.
Churn Pool is fishing as it should be, quiet, undisturbed and challenging.
